GigApple.com FAQ

Have a question about GigApple.com?  It could well be answered below.  If it's not, then feel free to contact us.

Q: What is GigApple.com?

A: See the About page.

Q: Where is the FAQ?

A: Errr, try the FAQ link.

Q: How can I get my favorite venue listed on the drop-down box?

A: Contact me.  Tell me the name of the venue, venue website, address and telephone.

Q: How do I delete or correct/update an existing gig entry?

A: Contact me.  Tell me what to change, or to delete it.

Q: What's this Harris Radio "Live in NYC" show all about?

A: It's a show that runs twice every day with music from acts playing in NYC in the coming month.  I consult GigApple.com to program the playlist.  You have to be on it to be in it, or something like that.

Q: When do you update the playlist?

A: At the beginning of each month, during the first few days.  So have your gigs listed by the 1st of each month.

Q: What's this "Live in NYC" column in Indie Sounds NY.

A: Just a short column highlighting an act that will be playing in NYC during the next month.  Name, website, photo and a short blurb, and info on the gig.

Q: And what's the Indie Sounds NY blog?

A: Just that.  It's a blog that complements the print publication.  About once a week, there is a short feature on an act listed on GigApple.

Q: Do you list Maxwell's gigs?

A: No.

Q: Why not?

A: It's not in NYC.

Q: It's close isn't it?

A: Yes it is.

Q: I hear you do booking too?

A: Nope, not any more.  A thankless task.

Q: But you can get me a gig right?

A: If you're a chick who plays the fiddle, it's a possibility.

Q: I am a venue.  Can I pay you to list gigs I am putting on?

A: You know, it would be cheaper to hire an intern to do it.

Q: I am a venue, can I sponsor/advertise?

A: Does Dolly Parton sleep on her back?  Contact me for rates.

Q: Do you take other advertising?

A: I love it all.  Contact me for rates.

Q: What about adult advertising?

A: Only if my pimp, Ken Rockwood, gets a discount.

Q: Have you tested GigApple.com on multiple OS/Browser platforms?

A: No, just Windows XP and Vista and IE.  It works for that, and looks OK on a 1024 x 768 screen.

Q: But it doesn't work right on my Mac?

A: Does anything?
