And for musicians, there's more to GigApple.com than just a listing.  Gigs on the calendar at the beginning of each month are eligible for inclusion in the "Live in NYC" show on Harris Radio, which airs twice every day.  Moreover, one act per month will be featured in the "Live In NYC" column in Indie Sounds NY, and GigApple acts are featured weekly on the Indie Sounds blog.
